I am here.
Since a lot of fellow lawyers are here I will likely be posting more legal related stuff and perhaps more technical litigation posts.

My wife found military records from the previous owner of our home.
He was a fighter pilot in the Korean War.
Can't wait to read them. He died without family and willed the house to a fellow war vet who we purchased the home from in 2016.

While I sit here doing Civil work and am seemingly "keeping busy," I think about the Public Defenders out there having more impact in a day than what I may impact in weeks, months, years, or even my entire life.
Special people. Sacrificing perhaps everything to protect our Constitution and rights.

While I sit here doing Civil work and am seemingly "keeping busy," I think about the Public Defenders out there having more impact in a day than what I may impact in weeks, months, years, or even my entire life.

Don't think I ever met a "bad" one and even the ones that appeared lazy ended up pulling some crazy stuff later on.

Tonight there are two owls going back and forth outside my window. My children sleep close.
It gives me great peace and makes me feel like everything will be ok, even though it will take so much more work now.

It's like a job interview but for a job that will last longer than I lasted at most of the firms I worked for in the past.

In 2019, pre pandemic, this little goblin ran out of a home and greeted us in a driveway in Chula Vista.
She was the last one out of a litter of four and there was no question she was ours since that day moving forward.
