A tree trunk with many small etched lines all over. There is a visible dark spot in the bottom left, which is the same one as in the earlier photo with two ovular dark spots(specifically the right one). This photo is particularly lighter than the rest due to a lack of the deep orange color that the others have. A tree trunk with darker spots and little etched in lines crossing over the whole trunk. The dark spot starts at the left side centered and moves until the middle center, tapering off in vertical girth as it does.

Does anyone know what causes these tiny patterns/lines. I love the patterns, enough to take the photos. Is it ants eating the bark/wood left, manmade lines from whatever, just the natural pattern of the trees either from their bark or something else? I feel like @hankgreen.bsky.social would know.
A Tree trunk with interesting lines etched over it by something. The bark had partially been removed A (naturally?)debarked tree trunk with two ovular darker spots and covered in little etched in lines. A tree trunk that has too big cracks running through it. It also has many lines etched into it by something. Some of the bark is barely visible at the bottom, but it is mostly debarked. A tree trunk fully debarked with many tiny lines etched along it. It also is chipping off in several light and dark spots.

I've been really enjoying scribbling around and then drawing stuff I see in the scribbles. It usually makes messy drawings, however, It also helps me be a little more creative then I normally am, even though I got lazy with the background here.
