Oh no, how will we cope?

Thanks, I needed to see that.

Here in Sheffield I'm really not sure we've had any significant rain in about 2 months!

If this nature reserve will actually be a reserve for nature - then this is great news!
.
Or will it continue to be over-grazed, frequently-burned, and dominated by sheep and grouse shooting?

The problem is this:
There may well be a majority of people who want to rejoin/SM/CU/etc. but they vote for 5(?) different parties.
Any attempt to rejoin, will be met at the next GE by a 'save Brexit' bloc - probably led by Farage, and they'll get 35% of the vote, = enough to win.
.
We're buggered.

We've taken our nephew on all sorts of trips and activities.
What does he talk about every time we see him?
Making pancakes, and that afternoon he spent moving piles of logs - I've never seen a kid so happy, engaged, proud.

It's not my solution, I'd genuinely love to see a better one.

Exactly, pip is there to help disabled people live and work - if possible...
It's growing due to an increasing number of young people who are claiming it because they feel anxious.
We can't afford it, even with the magical wealth taxes that we think will pay for everything...
March 27, 2025 at 5:47 PM
That kind of help has just been announced.
March 27, 2025 at 5:43 PM
Peter, do *you* have a solution to the massive (and ballooning) cost of disability benefits?
.
If a million people want to claim pip for anxiety, there will be less for everyone else - the numbers have to add up.

Parklife!
March 27, 2025 at 6:51 AM
Yes, it's massive, employing many tens of thousands of people.
March 27, 2025 at 6:48 AM
Bit weird, and telling, that you use this for yet another attack on the government...
.
This is bad news for all of us.

We all know what we saw, stop gas-lighting us.

If farmers really want their children to make a success of the family farm, they need to pass it on while they're still alive, and able to help/advise.
Most importantly, they need to pass the farm on while their kids are young enough to make a go of it, not old enough to retire.

The polls tell us:
A) an election-winning number of people would vote for parties that would immediately reverse any material progress.
B) the sensible vote is split 5 (?) ways.
.
In other words, we can't rejoin until the Tories are onboard.
March 1, 2025 at 5:54 PM
We *are* rejoining as quickly as possible.
ie slowly.

There are some interesting benefits to vertically-mounted, east-west panels...
A) you get *more* production in the early/later hours of the day.
B) you don't add to the mid-day spike of over-production.
C) you can install them back-to-back, getting more panels into finite space.

Stupid idea: Greenpeace buy loads of BP shares?
February 26, 2025 at 6:19 PM
It's so very weird.
We've seen loads of great pictures of Mars...
(the robots we've sent are very cool!)
There's nothing there.
February 26, 2025 at 7:36 AM
That's a lovely balanced shape, lots of character!
February 25, 2025 at 8:53 AM
Those are stills, not videos.
.
Very different.
