The misconceived notion that the way to deal with the backlog of asylum claims is to duplicate the system so as to have exit assessments too.

In essence: addressing the problem of a queue by forming another queue, just as long.

Daft, as well as cruelly unsettling.

“When the CIA makes an assessment of whether someone is likely to want to spy for them, to risk everything and betray their country in order to pass secrets to America, they talk about “MICE”…namely: Money, Ideology, Compromise and Ego.“

Which applied to Gill?

Given the party's refusal to act on Pochin's brazen racism, it should be as socially unacceptable to vote for Reform as it was in the early 2000s to vote for the BNP.

And we should be prepared to say this to people's faces.

How bad that we need to have a law like this.
The Hillsborough Law is a transformative moment for our country. Candour becomes the baseline, not a favour, and honesty is a legal duty, not an option, writes Labour MP @joepowell.bsky.social

There are one or two questions about Nigel Farage's tax affairs. Some reports say he deliberately avoided stamp duty, others are less sure. I just wonder whether the truth is being witheld from us. I don't know the answer to that, but it is a fair and legitimate question.

@davidallengreen.bsky.social article on protest. Judges as the last bastion in protest cases, maybe in crime but in civil a mixed bag, some achieving balance others hammering protesters into the ground.

All the pictures show the exact problem with lime bikes that the uses just dump them, so they obstruct the path. Hopefully the new companies enforce parking them in bays off of pavements.

It was so common that he just forgot whether on this occasion he did.
You don't "not recall" telling DOJ lawyers to say "fuck you" to court orders. You either remember saying it, or you remember that you definitely didn't say it. Emil Bove saying he doesn't recall means he definitely said it, and there's a roomful of people that can testify to it.
