I found Iczer-1 back in the 90s at SunCoast & it had me looking for anything Hirano for years after & to this day is one of my favorite series.
Additionally in the last 30 some odd years I have only ever heard @geraldawo.bsky.social ever even say the name Iczer (or Hirano for that matter)

Gotta give this one to Ghost Hound, which I stumbled across pretty much at random from a list of titles when I was in college. It's a paranormal/psychological horror in a rural Japanese village, moody and low-key- somewhere in the neighborhood of The Summer Hikaru Died and The Mothman Prophecies.

Fight!! Iczer-One is a bit messy, but there's really nothing else like it. If you have a tolerance for gross 80s slop, you will find (big) gold in here. Lesbians, evil lesbians, gore, tentacle gornography, cosmic horror, mecha, totaly ineffectual JSDF vs. Godzilla style war sequences, Kamille & Fa,
On the 19th of October 1985, the 1st episode of Iczer One was released. The 3 episode OVA was based on the manga by Lemon People. Masami Obari did the mecha designs and animation work for ep 2-3. It debuted in SRW L (DS) in 2010.

Thinking about Tsukihime in relation to Ryukishi's work is fun because Nasu is interested in some of the same broad issues of social rot, gendered violence, isolation and disillusion etc. but he's (comparatively) a little too dumb and a little too horny so it becomes more muddled

i've been watching Necronomico. it's about cthulu kidnapping streamers to play death games. it's fun.
it's very hyperpop stylish, esp. as someone who loves purple & blue... it also feels extremely clear how much the creators loves tone and characters of Danganronpa.
