All the talk of Cosmic Princess Kaguya makes me want to remind you to watch Isao Takahata's Kaguya-Hime, which is his magnum opus and probably the best Ghibli film, one of the absolute crown jewels of animation

Something that is lost in Frieren discourse imo is that while the anime is very faithful to the direct plot beats of the manga adaptational choices in art, animation and music enhance and build upon its very simple ideas to the point that it's basically a qualitatively different thing
