It was a v big deal as part of the higher ed response to the Crash. TCD and UCD formed an alliance they called “a research superhighway” (!) to save the economy (?!) and 3U was trying to rival that. There were a LOT of meetings, launches and initiatives and then…silence.

Their own explanation is hilarious too: totally committed to rebranding but also absolutely refuse to give up their old brand 🤷‍♀️

That would be a great idea - I do wonder the extent to which transport links would affect that - Dundalk and Belfast are linked by a direct and fast trainline. Derry is so much more cutoff from across the border.
