well, here it is lads

after combing through some 1,400 records, it looks like the slender-billed curlew is indeed extinct and the last known photo taken in 1995 was probably at the point it slipped beneath the waves 🦉🧪

The Central European #wolf database has>20k geo and time ref records of >4500 unique genotypes since 2005. We use it to ID individuals from prey, feces, hairs and to infer dispersal, kinship, and origins of newly genotyped wolves. We've tracked 100s of wolves across Europe this way. A few examples:
