This chapter is the first proper look we get at Frenchie’s magic and how it affects a mortally-wounded Izzy. It was lots of fun to write!
"Why do I feel like I've known you for years?” Hands asks, bluntly. “Mm. Yeah, that's the magic, babe. It's no easy matter, bringing a man back from the cliff edge of the gravy basket. Serious business. I had to tether you to me to keep you from slipping back over it.” Izzy looks confused by this, muttering the words gravy basket to himself with a puzzled frown, but Frenchie doesn't know how to explain it any simpler. “We're temporarily joined,” he tries, “deep down in the bones and the bile. It lets the magic flow more freely, even when I'm not actively making music, and it confuses death when it tries coming for you.” Hands bares his teeth like a feral dog. “Death's been coming for me my whole fucking life. I've never needed any fucker's help to send it packing.” “Really? Not even Ed’s?” Izzy’s eyes slide guiltily to the front of the wagon, and the closed, curtained off hatch that leads up to the driving bench. Frenchie’s tune wobbles jealously under his hands, and the magic starts to green at the edges.

Day One – Sci-fi Day Two – Reality/Game Show Day Three – Sitcom Day Four – Historical Day Five – Supernatural/Fantasy Day Six – Drama Day Seven – Animated For each prompt, just pick a show you love in that genre, and drop some OFMD characters in there, e.g. for sci-fi you could draw the crew in Starfleet uniforms, or write about them taking a trip in the TARDIS – whatever floats your (safe) spaceship! All types of fanwork are welcome (art, fic, graphics, interpretive dance, etc.) as are any TV shows in that genre – go as niche as you like. Use the hashtag #OFMDTVAU and go ahead and put those guys into other people's situations!

The boys met some new friends out in the garden today. These fantasy creatures are known as scrolls and are related to wyrm dragons. Bit like a legless ferret or a furry snake! But they're pretty harmless and friendly 🧵
