You bet I observe Christmas because otherwise its quantum state is indeterminate. Do you want a Santa who is both dead and alive??

That’s possibly useful. The next step would be to create a BridgyFed-style gateway that adversarially bridges content to the fediverse, where it can be followed and interacted with.
Christmas #feditip: if you have to/ want to view content on #instagram, but do not want to download the app or visit Instagram.com, you can use anonymous front-ends like:

https://imginn.com/

https://flufi.me/

If you then want to share the material with the free world, you can then use […]

Interesting note since I started responding with human trafficking assistance resources to all my sha zhu pan ("pig butchering") text messages -- they have stopped completely. I believe I got added to some exclusion list the criminals pass around. So I can endorse this strategy on several levels […]

I've heard anecdotal reports of computer repair places "accidentally" breaking the ram and refunding the customer the catalogue price from six months ago, presumably to feed it into machines of more important corporate customers... so we're already at the scavenging-to-survive stage of AI […]

This word deserves to be used more, as in “coambulate with me”, “we can coambulate there”, &c.

I think this is why fascists love AI art, not because it is good, but because it is bad. Not because it is original, but because it is stolen.

To make art as an expression of skill and craft and humanity reinforces humanity.

To push a button that steals art and call it your own is domination.

Just great.

RAM is unaffordable because a few companies are hoarding it.

Printer ink is about to be unaffordable because of all those 100 page fully redacted documents.

You know what? Let me amend that. There is one thing LLMs are good at: making spam. Lots and lots of spam. Almost by definition, it's hard to make good automated filters to detect it, so you basically need humans to sit there and read the slop.

They're good at wasting time and DoSing brains.

I got the The Archer archetype in the #wrapstodon2025 thing. Probably unsurprising, as I don't use this as a diary (occasional travels excepted) and haven't made enough cool things to post about recently.
