What's actually bad about this?
She was 9 weeks pregnant. She died. The state of Georgia is making the doctors keep her alive to incubate the baby. She’s been dead for three months. This is REAL. this isn’t about what should or should not be done. This is about having a VOICE. This is about having a CHOICE.

How? Again, why are you so intent on shrinking the tent? You are telling border hawks, tough on crime believers, isolationists, that even if they are pro choice, they should never donate to you because you aren't interested in protecting abortion rights.
It seems like we shouldn't need to spell this out, but Reproductive Justice is wholly incompatible with:
- ICE kidnappings & detention centers
- Killer cops & mass incarceration
- US-funded famines & genocides

Do you think voters are mentally impaired that they won't notice a million foreigners arriving every year?

There is a tension between liberalism and democracy when the demos want illiberalism

The legitimacy of a government is derived from the results it can deliver for the people.
Flatly, no. No it is not. Speed, as such, is not progressive. It is not an unqualified good. It depends. Stop it.

The only thing constant about American politics is that the average American is a contrarian
I’m a seasoned global health teacher

I’m struggling these days to explain the state of the world to young people, give them hope or answer their inevitable question: “what can we do?”

How are other teachers coping??

How is any of this possibly legal? Musk has never been confirmed by the Senate to any position.
“Make no mistake, what’s happening right now is a hostile takeover of the federal government by a private agency operating with a broad mandate and no concerns for the stability of the United States or the interests of the average American.”

As I have always said, elections have consequences. The right has won the culture war.
Meta is making big changes to hiring practices, sources told me and @mikeisaac.bsky.social

- no more teams devoted to Diversity, Equity and Inclusion
- no diversity preference for working with outside minority owned supplier businesses
- no goals for hiring women and minorities

The right has won the culture war
NEW: Meta just killed its diversity, equity and inclusion program. Employees aren't buying the company's argument that it's the result of a 'shifting legal landscape.' What they're saying inside the company ➡️ www.platformer.news/meta-kills-d...

Does it though? Prices were high, the border was chaotic, crime had increased. How much of it was just a result of this year being a very unfavorable environment for incumbents?
America was given a choice between a lawless, amoral monster and a qualified, intelligent, joyful woman of color—and it chose the monster.

We need to reckon with the reality of what that says about so many of us here.
