I don't mind being called a Luddite - they were fighting for their livelihoods in the face of a system designed to maximise profits for the wealthy at the expense of the poor. I'm not anti-progress btw, bring in the looms and weaving machines but something something means of production

I suppose. I've noticed a consistent patterns where I don't particularly like the middle of any of the novels I've read so far, I feel they drag to set things up, and then he threads them all together for the end of the book. It feels like that's the pattern I'm seeing with the current books I'm on

Honestly I wasn't a big fan of Crown of Swords either but yes. Sadly the series is just like the individual novels suffer from the fact that Robert Jordan can't pace a story to save his life. But the characters and overall story keep me coming back
