@abolisyonista.bsky.social
Writer and archivist on Philippine anarchism and socialism, reader of ultraleft communism, degrowth, social ecology, police+prison abolition, Southeast Asian anarchisms. For the self-abolition of the proletariat.
Trauma from the financial and carceral system, betrayal from watching the left become the left wing of Dutertismo, disillusionment with working in government (long march through institutions? Ha!), autism, and books. ngl.link/abolisyonista

Not sure if I'd learn anything particularly useful from r/ultraleft tbh.

Sure. It makes it easier to pronounce stuff. Words with different pronunciations have are spelled the same.

English should have diacritics too. It's hard for learners to figure out the difference between read and read and lead and lead.

As long as it isn't a hierarchical, patriarchal, misogynist, or domineering, I'm not really sure I should care? At any rate, it's better than Catholicism or Christianity.

Material limits to an insurrection, or something, idk!

Probably Nemik because he's the only one writing the theory. Probably also like Nemik, I'd probably die tragically in an insurrection. Saw Gerrera is pretty cool too, an anarchist warlord like Makhno, never staying in one place, “the only one with clarity of purpose,” but it's not my style.

I really enjoyed watching Women Wearing Shoulder Pads. It's a Latin American stop motion animation set in Ecuador with cuyes (guinea pigs), yuri, veganism, and more yuri.

Aww this one is sad. Always really? 🤐🤐🤐 I actually don't talk much IRL unless something gets me going. I'm more "talkative" online. I'll try to be more considerate.

My favorite matcha recipe:

* Espresso cup measurement of cold oat milk
* a small teaspoon of matcha powder

Combine into a canister and shake vigorously. Pour into espresso cup.

I don't really have favorite music I keep returning to, mostly enjoyable earworms that get stuck in my head. Recently it's GOOD LUCK, BABE.

I really enjoyed the DANDELION DYNASTY series by Ken Liu. Science fantasy "silkpunk" alt-modernization. Court intrigue, yuri, fantasy tech. For nonfiction, Johnhenry Gonzales' MAROON NATION on postemancipation maroons in Haiti was quite thought provoking in theory implications.

“It is no use distinguishing between cops and citizens. Under Empire, the difference between the police and the population is abolished. At any moment each citizen of Empire can, through a typical Bloomesque reversal, reveal himself a cop.”

News from the Mendiola detainees: Lots of Filipinos are providing support. One such support was the provision of meals to detainees, but it turns out the meals were despoiled by the police before given to the illegally detained.

Once you understand the self-abolition of the proletariat, you'll never stop wanting to beat programmatism to death with your bare hands.
