A menace to society. Abolish_This on bird app. Kjipuktuk, Mi'kmaki. He/him
I think, to your point, the decline of the particular type of person I'm describing aligns pretty well chronologically with it being any amount more acceptable for women to have any other special interest whatsoever. At some point the brain probably does this or you got Sent Somewhere, unfortunately

That being said, there are systems that other places just call trams that we might call LRT, just like there are systems that other places call "the bus" that we might call BRT. So, like, whatever, give me the choochoo

Sir, a second porta-potty has just hit the bike network

Found another North America thing to introduce to @zertoxamazigh.bsky.social . Today he learns about our rich and terribly irresponsible deep mansion exurbs (the ones that catch on fire)

There is also this alternate that currently has the exact amount of dismount requirement time with more directness (cross at Romans).
This is also one-trillion-percent the way to go if your destination lets you turn on Chisholm (e.g., this is the best way to get to Halifax Cycles and it's not close)

Oh! Wait! They're the same scene but flipped! And I'm going with maybe intended to be Vienna still

Every city in Canada with corridor zoning has at least one or two really stupid examples of this

We have to be super careful in collaboration with our international peers because even one look at this screenshot would kill a Dutch planner on the spot

What they want you to do is literally too circuitous for the meme about a thought process being too circuitous to be correct

Another nice-to-have while doing bumpouts is differently paved bays. You can see in this random street in suburban Utrecht their bays use pavers, so for longer ones you still get a cue. Notably this is a minor COLLECTOR, because otherwise it's hard to find anything remotely analogous to our streets.

Yo that's wild, I have literally said before that Kempt looks like a rail corridor on maps and sure enough there were rails there

My position on this has always been clear

It sounds like just clever wordplay, but is a real paradox to consider; physical barriers and infrastructural exclusion are both barriers & they both hinder movement. But one is targeting the repressed, the other is challenging the dominant. Abolition is also possible when you remove the dominance!

Hey @wayemason.bsky.social do you happen to know what the design intent is behind the bike turn box from South Park onto Spring Garden lining up with the right turn lane rather than the straight-ahead lane? Are we supposed to wait for cars to pass before merging in onto SGR? Is it a mistake?

This feels like poor planning. Traffic was backed up anyway (car next to it is stopped), might as well just block the car lane at that point 😂. One of the workers was gesturing for me to illegally ride on the sidewalk as they brought out the hose/tube lmao

It is!!! Absolutely splurged beyond what is financially responsible for me with a new HSD, but the quality of life improvement is wild. I feel like the world is just a little bit more "for me".

The irony of this sign while yelling about stopping a genocide right outside the tents where homeless people sleep did occur to me. A commonality between these groups, of course, is the comfort those in power have needlessly perpetuating their suffering.
