Not to brag, but this old lady and her husband have tickets to see @themountaingoats.bsky.social with both of our adult kids next October! I love it that the whole family gets excited about the poetry and storytelling in the MG lyrics.

Making the whole thing a street party is exactly the right approach.

Keep the violence and escalation on the side of the state.

Images of repression, undermine governmental legitimacy.

And the more sympathetic that protesters look, the harder it is to paint them as dangerous.
Completely bizarre to hear tv talk about sending in the military and then you see the actual pics of the protests and people are buying hot dogs and line dancing while the Nat Guard looks on in silent envy.

Listening to Service Model, by @aptshadow.bsky.social, while I pack. It’s read by the author and, dang! He’s *good* at this. Like, Andy-Serkis-reading-LOTR good, which is high praise indeed! Bonus: Service Model has no songs (Apologies to Tolkien, but oof. Those songs are rough in audio format)

Y’all, “You look so young today; I didn’t recognize you,” is a thing a lady just said to me. I’m pretty sure she meant it as a compliment, but if she didn’t? Respect! That is some deeply layered shade right there. 🤣

This is cruel. This is shortsighted (diseases spread across borders). Why did people vote to make the world so much worse for everybody?

I finally have time to sit down with my copy of Everything is Tuberculosis by @johngreensbluesky.bsky.social, and I need to know if it’s weird to be this proud of a fully grown adult whom I have never met? (Btw, I’ve got a green Green signature. IYKYK)

DOGE signed an agreement with Louis DeJoy to slash 10,000 jobs from the already-understaffed USPS.

The USPS is the nation’s lifeline, ensuring delivery to every corner of the country.

We cannot allow it to be dismantled, sold off, and handed over to billionaires for profit.

What he said about Social Security payments has been repeatedly debunked - so the question isn’t whether he’s lying about this, the question is why.

What is this a pretext for? He and the GOP have long shown interest in going after Social Security. What are they going to try?
