Apple TV is doing it too. Suddenly I have to login nearly every time I use it on my TV (which has Google not Roku). Finally discovered they keep turning on the data analytics and AI stuff when you log back in. 😡

some cities absolutely have true housing crises, no question. But Americans also keep wanting more and bigger & that’s a problem.

Local government can have the most impact on your everyday life!

You can’t imagine how timely this is today … about to step back from a leadership role amidst a lot of misunderstanding.

Getting myself rallied to go to a party and deplete my introvert battery takes ENOUGH energy — make me plan, buy and put on a costume? No thank you ma’am.

When it is 3-5 times a night I definitely don’t like it.

I’ve lived the transition in our district — both as a parent and school director pushing for change. It happened too late for my kids, but we are finally there.

Now our ELA (reading) data is drastically improving. I’m proud but also sad — my kids will be graduating this year. It took too long.

This approach severely hurt my kid with dyslexia and they didn’t know how to provide appropriate interventions/remediation. I became a school board director and battled for our district to move to structured literacy. It took the Sold a Story podcast and pending legislation for us to make the move.

I hate this timeline.

(Dyslexia does have a connection to grammar as it is a disability of reading, writing and spelling)

Personally I am quite happy to let some things go. The other person tried to tell me how to parent and that I don’t abide.

I don’t think your post does at all. Nor am I mad about it. I left a comment trying to put a little context around the person that expressed being upset. Simply saying that for some people grammar standards have some (understandable) sensitivity.

I said in my post I took no offense from the OP, I just gave some context. While it is none ya business, I am happy to let you know I’m a great parent and my kid is overall well adjusted. But they also spent 2 years in therapy due to trauma from people’s misunderstandings of dyslexia.

Dyslexia is a disability. Would you recommend a person in a wheelchair just get over it if their town had no accessible stores?
November 10, 2025 at 11:31 PM
My child with dyslexia was ruthlessly penalized for spelling or grammar despite accommodations. It can make one sensitive to statements even when they are personal and in good fun. I took your post as intended but know my child’s tutor would have been agitated on behalf of all her beloved students.
