The perishing and dying include those who feel they cannot live in a transphobic society. Rescuing and caring for them means making them feel safe in the world, accepting who they are when they tell us and speaking out ‘the truth in love’ 🧐 to bigoted haters who display none of the mercy of Jesus.

This uses a classic trope of British tabloid media: the horrors which are so awful they can’t be put into words (leaving it to the listeners’ imagination). Or is it because he doesn’t know? As he says, they are carried out on the ‘private parts’ of individuals so maybe it’s none of his damn business

Finally, something I agree with! “The reality is: you are the gender that your body says you are.” Not what someone else says you are, whether that is a midwife or an old religious man. My sons told me their gender, and I believed them (all of them, in fact - trans and cis)

The fact that he cannot get the acronym of LGBTQIA in the right order and makes transgender a noun testifies to how one-sided his reading and understanding is. Do you see how he quickly follows his story about 1st graders with talking about the sexual revolution? Conflating kids with sex 🤢

From my understanding, this teacher, on Transgender Awareness Day, read 2 age appropriate books to kids about some people being trans. Parents kicked off about their ‘right to parent’ being violated. Look at the words used here: young mothers (not parents) and 1st-grade students to emphasise youth

Parents need to wonder why these education professionals might withhold information about a child’s gender identity from parents in the first place. Perhaps home is not a safe place for this child to explore who they are.
