Since AI Agents, AI Workflows and GenAI are popular terms, here is a term I'd wish to popularise: #RoughdraftAI - which was originally coined by @garymarcus.bsky.social.

You can find a definition my team and I created at indicpacific.com/glossary.

Exactly. I think tech policy perspectives should not be seen from a liberalism/fascism/communism lens.

Technology, as rightly said by Indian Foreign Minister Dr Jaishankar, is politically relevant. Anyone would use it.

AI doesn't want anything 'ideological'.

It's common sense.
No! AI does not “want” to promote freedom. It does not want anything at all.

And the companies that make and distribute AI? They don’t want freedom either.

They want to monetize you & your info, even if that means destroying your privacy, and wreck both the environment and information ecosphere.
AI is no natural ally to fascism. AI can aid education and cross-cultural communication, as I am seeing with our own kids, and is innately democratic, as we're seeing with all the amazing open-source releases. Yes, we need robust AI governance, but the technology itself wants to promote freedom

Okay, so ISAIL has officially completed 5 years.

What is ISAIL?

The Indian Society of Artificial Intelligence and Law is an AI industry forum led by technology lawyers like me, founded in 2018, incorporated in 2019.

Personally happy where have we ventured and grown through.

Why is there a need for a Digital Knowledge Act in the EU? Because as a new op-ed from communia points out, libraries & educational institutions encounter “significant barriers when trying to provide learning materials in digital form,” among other challenges. Learn more ⤵️
Together with Felix Reda we outlined our asks for a Digital Knowledge Act to enable & support knowledge institutions in Europe:

- no liability when acting in good faith
- fight unfair licensing
- no paywalls for publicly funded research
