A very wayward opinion, but Rayan Cherki might be a good choice for the double pivot role in Liverpool's system.
We lack a proper replacement for Macca, and Cherki has all attributes to play that role. Physical, good passing range, decent vision and technically proficient.

Nottingham Forest are often pigeonholed as this super defensive side but today's performance against Southampton definitely showed their offensive strengths, be it against a very weak team.

Nottingham Forest are often pigeonholed as this super defensive side but today's performance against Southampton definitely showed their offensive strengths, be it against a very weak team.

Absolutely sensational defensive performance from trent today. That tracking run where he gets the ball off Mbuemo is exactly the kinda effort it felt was lacking in his previous games. He's really turned it around since that FA Cup tie, has been amazing in the last 3.

Never think I've seen a player more reliant on confidence than Nunez. He literally took the ball from Salah's feet for the second goal, hopefully he kicks on and can be an asset for the rest of the season.

Kerkez should be the nailed on Robertson replacement. Good connection with the sporting director, at the age and price range that Liverpool like. Good experience, suitable physical attributes. Bring him to Anfield.

At the start of the season, LB was apparently a spot of deficiency for the league, yet we have 3 solid players, in Kerkez, Robinson and Aït-Nouri all going for the TOTY. Lewis-Skelly and Gvardiol are also amazing outside shouts, so is Djed Spence.

The Saka injury is on Arteta. Playing that many matches at that age, injuries were inevitable.
There was no need to play him in less important games. Crystal Palace in the league Cup being one example.
Also should have signed a better backup.

The Carabao Cup semi-final draw is amazing.
Both Liverpool and Arsenal can use this as a springboard to achieve bigger trophies, whereas both Spurs and Newcastle need it to show faith and progress in their respective processes.

Kerkez, Robinson and Aït-Nouri are all of similar profile, the running full back role in the lines of Robertson at his best.
IMO we sign Kerkez, seeing as he's the one most strongly linked. But the other 2 are good options as well.
