Books on one specific year were a thing lately: 1979, by Frank Bösch, 1977 by Philipp Sarasin, Karl Schlögel’s Moscow 1937. Eventually, we have one for the history of computing: William Aspray’s 1920 focusing on the history of information in one particular year in the US #digitalgeschichte

Schirvar: Although there were solid economic reasons for tribes to invest in electronics manufacturing, firms like Cherokee Nation Industries (CNI) were not typical business ventures. Most notably, indigenous leaders tended to prioritize employment over profit.
