Books on one specific year were a thing lately: 1979, by Frank Bösch, 1977 by Philipp Sarasin, Karl Schlögel’s Moscow 1937. Eventually, we have one for the history of computing: William Aspray’s 1920 focusing on the history of information in one particular year in the US #digitalgeschichte
Congrats to CBI Sr. Research Fellow William Aspray, who just published Understanding Information History: The Case of America in 1920 (Springer).
It is a microhistory on the single year 1920--info contexts from flu and farming to Prohibition...!
