“What this nation needs as we build bundles of big beautiful roads is not another round of hand-wringing, airy-fairy woke utopianism. We need a sensible, boots-on-the-deck approach to securing our energy future. And yes, harvesting the noble whale for its bountiful oil is the common-sense solution.🧵

Since when do the people committing the genocide get to negotiate the terms of its cessation? A peace plan only makes sense if there is a war. Which there is not. #FreePalestine

Shameless Zionism and genocide apologists Act Party are almost certainly the reason for NZs laggard status on recognising Palestine. #onetermgovt

Once a proud forerunner in progressive foreign policy, NZ now shamefully lags behind Australia, Canada and those wretched old colonisers England and France who’ve joined over 150 countries in recognising the state of Palestine. #onetermgovt #nzpol #freepalestine

FBI can get the hell out of NZ. We’re an independent sovereign nation. This is a shameful obsequious kowtowing to the world’s biggest bully. #nzpol

Trump stands in America’s warmongering tradition of unprovoked attacks on sovereign states and poodle-like obedience to Israel. Neutrality in the face of superpower aggression is untenable. New Zealand must condemn Israel and US unilateral attacks on Iran. #nzpol

Terrible tyranny-of-the-majority decision against Te Pāti Māori last night. Luxon government used their domination of a committee of parliament to excessively punish an opposition party for dissent against the Tiriti nullifying treaty principles bill. A dark day for New Zealand democracy. #nzpol

I agree with Louisa Wall re Te Pati Māori haka penalty that, “The punishment is not only unprecedented — it is disproportionate, procedurally flawed and democratically dangerous.”
@Luxon has turned Parliament’s Privileges Committee into a kangaroo court. #nzpol

Acting Prime Minister Winston Peters just paraphrased Macbeth to justify the fell-swoop killing of pay equity laws. “If it were done when 'tis done, then 'twere well it were done quickly.” - From Macbeth's soliloquy before he kills King Duncan. #nzpol

Love hearing this. At the very end, only once, he runs the basis of the now familiar main lyric melody too. The foundation of so much of what we regard as western pop music is out of Africa, including via the stolen people forcibly brought to the Americas.
And #letsdoit25 day 11 song 2: "Mbube" by Solomon Linda's Original Evening Birds (1939). The song that was misheard as "Wimoweh" and then ripped off as "The Lion Sleeps Tonight", and which started its own genre of South African music.

I would only add to this that the whole concept of western civilisation is racist and was used along with social Darwinism to justify multitudes of brutal colonisations and genocides across the world (and still is #Palestine) which invariably suits the accumulation of wealth and capital by the few.
I fear there is deep truth here.

I don't think the spike in Treaty Principles Bill submissions was generated by bots.

We saw a similar spike in usage of the Greenpeace submission builder: greenpeace.nz/qc6hwb

It primarily came from social media and Google search.
