Spacious and crustaceous.
If I had to explain 2025 to a time traveller, I'd show them this.

Pleasingly central dog is not helpful for project update photos.

Gender related book bans are ridiculous. I don't believe you can artificially induce body dysmorphia in others that way.

Having said that, I bought my dog a jumper for cats that looks a little bit like a mouse, so fuck knows what her internal identity conversation looks like at the moment.

I might need to log off.

'It Chapter Two' (2019) Enjoyed this a lot more this time around. Cosmic horror and some great set pieces.

Fun times.

Bill Hader's underrated.

'It' (2017) I was too harsh on first viewing. This is fine and even if all I can hear is Winnie the Pooh, Bill Skarsgård makes for a super spooky Pennywise.

My affection for the mini series may well have blinkered me to the good gore and great acting at play.

'V for Vendetta' (2005) This is one of my repeat comfort watches and one day, I hope I can watch this and it not be increasingly relevant

'Frankenstein' (2025) I enjoyed all of the squishy practical effects and the costume design.

I disliked the cast and their extremely distracting accents.

Felt like it really didn't bring anything new to the story, and I'm sad that I didn't enjoy it because I genuinely really like GDT and his work.

'Maya the Bee: The Honey Games' (2018) was good solid bee fun yet again.

Lots of reviews are like 'Honey games? more like Hunger games!' and my dear sweet idiots, let me explain wordplay to you.

'Frida' (2002) Speaking of messy bi femmes... this film should have been in Spanish, and so many other things...

It's a gorgeous film, Salma Hayek is spectacular, and the visual language of her art integrated throughout is a delight.

RIP Frida Kahlo. You'd have loved Good Luck, Babe!

'Hedda' (2025)

Scrumptious looking, beautifully reimagined, thick with meaning and context.

I enormously enjoyed this.

Tessa Thompson is the alpha and the omega of a messy bi femme.

'Thelma' (2024)

Dude, I'm glad you love your Grandma but both of the 2 stars I gave this film on Letterboxd are for the incomparable Malcolm Mcdowell.

I would rather watch Jenny Pen several more times tbh.

'What? Like it's hard?'

Apparently so.

Arts and crafts are so soothing.

Rewatched both the It films prior to starting Welcome to Derry and they've aged well. I had a lot more fun with them this time around.

Please can V for Vendetta stop being so relevant soon?

Last but definitely not least, 'The Core' (2003) RIP Tchéky Karyo.

'Seeeeeerrrrrrggggge!'

'Phantom of the Paradise' (1974)
Well, it's Halloween so it's a requirement.

I love this objectively perfect film so much.

'V/H/S Halloween' (2025) I had spoilery thoughts and they weren't positive I'm afraid.

'K-20: The fiend with 20 faces' (2008)

Shades of V for Vendetta, the Rocketeer, and the Shadow. Good pulpy fun with solid design details and some fun characters.

A tighter edit would have kept the action moving and the energy up. It struggled to keep my attention for the full run time as it was.

'The Beekeeper' (1986) Interminable male fantasy toss

This is what the most self centred men in the world consider a beautiful portrait of a struggle with finding meaning in the world?

At least it was boringly shot with flat colours and an awful soundtrack. Characterisation? Who needs it.

Urgh.

'M*A*S*H' (1970) got a repeat watch, although it's been a while.

I mean, sure it's racist and misogynistic and fairly nihilistic but counterpoint; Elliott Gould is illegally hot.
