There are tons of very famous scientists on this list. Congress, please listen to them!
Today, 1,152 NAS members/Nobel Laureates (as private individuals) sent a letter to Congress regarding the cuts to science being proposed by the Administration, and currently going through the House and Senate Appropriations Committees.

The bottom line with the proposed cuts to NSF is to cut the number of working scientists and disappear opportunities to train new scientists.

This is a PROPOSED budget to Congress. Call your reps.

How bad will it be? Catastrophic.

Proposed cuts to #NSF, #NIH, and #NASA will set the US R&D landscape back 25 yrs+, cause economic and job loss now, and undermine innovations to come.

But, this is the WH's *proposed* budget.

Speak up now before it is too late.

The idea that this is an efficiency, or that they are just gutting woke programs is horseshit. It's a massive disinvestment in science.
🧪 Data update on NSF grant terminations

Including last Friday's terminations, STEM education grants now account for...

54% of terminated NSF grants (751 of 1381)
75% of terminated NSF funding ($590M of $783M)

The next generation of scientists is being targeted.
