political violence is also:
- starving, murdering, and bombing 2 million civilians in Gaza
- kidnapping innocent people and deporting or detaining them without due process
- police killing unarmed Black people
- throwing tents and belongings of unhoused people into dumpsters
- storming the capitol

I don’t think the statue of liberty has a plaque that says “give us your money and you’ll get a green card but better”

call your reps and urge them to do the same, or better yet to show up to SOTU and then walk out. Dems can’t just say this is a constitutional crisis, we have to act like it — and that means refusing to go about business as usual.

Next Tuesday, we won’t waste a second in responding to Trump’s steam of lies at the State of the Union.

I’m not attending in person. Instead I’m partnering w @moveon.org to provide live real time response. Join us to learn the truth about the billionaire seizure of our government.

elon musk inventing a “white genocide” in South Africa is more than a bold faced lie. it’s another sick example of maga co-opting the language used to describe oppression to ignite their own base while villainizing the people who are actually oppressed.

words are powerful weapons.

research has shown that it takes 3.5% of a population participating in protests to enact change. that’s 11 million Americans.

we CAN preserve democracy, but we need more people to actively participate in the movement to stop the assault on our freedoms.

here’s how: 🧵

The '3.5% rule': How a small minority can change the world
Nonviolent protests are twice as likely to succeed as armed conflicts – and those engaging a threshold of 3.5% of the population have never failed to bring about change.

Let’s be clear: the whole thing is a con. TikTok could’ve kept the app rolling on Sunday but by shutting down & mentioning Trump, he gets to be the savior. One of many examples of companies & billionaires bowing down.

It’s BS. But it’s also the reality. Let’s not give Trump anymore opportunities 👍🏾
