Well grubbed, old mole!
So we’re all on the same page: @chenderson.bsky.social and @chmnmendelson.bsky.social are fine with exempting a chunk of buildings from TOPA protections with no hearing or data to support it, but it’s reckless to restore funding to an existing tax credit for working & middle-class families.

I don’t expect a ton in the area of moral authority from the chamber of commerce wing of our Council, but the level of chutzpah Brooke Pinto has to pitch her candidacy for DC Delegate as a defense against politicians attacking DC’s right to govern itself is as remarkable as it is enraging.

The tattoo’s not a totenkopf, it’s a silhouette of the Ohio State athletics logo. He’s a secret Buckeye, which is even worse

If there are no consequences for impounding money that it is required by law to spend, the Bowser administration will continue to flout the Council’s will. Polite talks with agency heads are not going to work.

A lot of people are saying that Jay Jacobs should find a new job, to which I say: great news! He has several other jobs, which helps explain why he’s so bad at the one everyone else cares about

“She’s in a tough spot.” Sounds like a challenge that a person who has the gumption to think she can properly manage the welfare of 700,000 people should rise to! Her own bio says this is what she’s good at!

People are rightfully dragging Mayor Bowser for praising Trump’s seizing control of law enforcement in DC, but let’s not lose sight of the fact that she used her “Federal Surge Situation Update” to pitch more *tax credits for businesses*

How is this different from the same tired bullshit that Chuck Schumer, Hakeem Jeffries, and other Dem “leaders” put out? “You elected me to Do Things, and that means me telling you to do my job for me and vote Blue”

If you show that graph with context beyond the past 3 months, you’ll see the change is rather small (and you can see what an industry “in shambles” actually looks like). In any event, it doesn’t make sense to blame a recent decline on a policy that restaurants have had years to pay for,
