So apparently someone was able to book an hotel on Booking.com using my AMEX and my contact information.
I had my data leaked in Free, LDLC and other French retailers… 🙃

Whoa. AWS appears to have started the process of deprecating EC2 reserved instances in favor of savings plans.

Pricing page removes them, new instance types can’t get them, documentation warns you away from them (and over to SPs).

One of the “joys” of being me is that due to my perceived reach, everyone’s nice to me.

Please, point out if someone’s a secret shithead. Confidentiality assured.
Reminder:

If you see your friend following the account of a terrible person, it's completely okay to DM your friend and say, "Hey, do you know that this person you're following/quoting/reposting/agreeing with, is terrible?"

Rarely your friend will say, "Yes, I like terrible people!" But not often.

I was being sarcastic but I spoke with Steven David #AWS principal SA who gave a talk on it and confirmed this is an accurate comparison.

Can I disagree with that ? Serverless should scale to zero, if not this cost should not be seen to the customer. That’s why it’s okay for serverless to be a bit more expensive.

Summary of @werner.social keynote at AWS re:Invent👇
December 5, 2024 at 6:13 PM
I would not say mandatory but I’m pretty sure you will have to look over it when developing your solution 😁
Want to learn more about shuffle sharding that @Werner mentioned on stage?

Here you go
aws.amazon.com/builders-lib...

The whole of the builders library should be mandatory for any Architect building complex systems

Nonetheless, i dont want to be the guy who has to port an app developed with the microsecond feature outside of AWS cloud lol #Reinvent

From what I could have took from Werner’s presentation, his presentation of clock for distributed apps is as fascinating as scary #Reinvent

Every so often someone makes the same terrible discovery.

You can set a lifecycle policy but that’ll incur a transition cost for every object post-upload. It’s inefficient.

Please fix.
