Comic based off of my silly of Mermaid/Sailor AU featuring my WoL, Elodie Aurifort & Gaius Baelsar from Final Fantasy XIV. (Baelfort vibes) PAGE 1 - [PANEL 1] Back view of Gaius (as a sailor) playing a common sea shanty on the fiddle alone. Chords from "Dies Irae" playing faintly in the foreground. [PANEL 2] Headshot view, he continues to play the fiddle, as more chords of "Dies Irae" cuts in his performance. [PANEL 3] Gaius stops playing the fiddle, distracted by the persistence of the mysterious melody. [PANEL 4] He opens the door of his personal quarters and steps out in the hull of the ship. Inquisitive of where the mysterious melody is coming from. [PANEL 5] A stern look upon Gaius' face, he is determined to find the source of the singing. [PANEL 3] The Mermaid is deeply invested in her performance. [PANEL 4] Gaius equally engrossed in her performance, oh how he wishes to stay in this moment forever. PAGE 5 - [PANEL 1] The mermaid turns around, finishing her song, unaware that she had an attentive audience present. [PANEL 2] Her eyes widen, as her face begins to turn red. [PANEL 3] The mermaid's reaction startles Gaius in return. [PANEL 4] The mermaid tongue tied and embarrassed that she's been spotted, turning her upper towards him. [PANEL 5] Turning back around, she looks as if she's ready to jump back into the sea and escape from this mortifying moment. [PANEL 6] "H-HEY!" Gaius shouts, lifting his hand in an attempt to stop the siren. [PANEL 7] Shot of his hand reaching out

"Besides I was way younger when I started piloting a mobile suit!" Elodie remains silent, processing what she just heard. "Don't forget they have college degrees!" Thancred adds on thinking that suddenly makes it better.

"Sorry," Gaius tries to laugh off his mistake, "Ulfur was curious..." He surely won't be making this mistake again. A 5-year-old Ulfur is hanging off Gaius' shoulder, frozen in fear over the rare sight of Elodie being displeased. They can barely string the thought together, "S-Scary Mama!" "Sorry ma'am!!" a teenage Ulfur yelps, "It won't happen again!" He can't help but feel a feeling of déjà vu wash over him. "I warned you..." Gaius mutters. (Spoilers: Despite Ulfur 'a statement, this will probably happen again.)

Allie stands to the side of her, holding Bunc'ee, she can't help but feel bad. Elodie might be lax about a lot, but she does not like it when one breaks her rules concerning equipment maintenance in a shared living space. Now... Is she fussing at Gaius or Ulfur? That's up to the viewer.
