Am I crazy or is starting manuscript #2 way harder than #1? With my first one, I wrote it because I didn’t know enough to know that I don’t know enough to write it. Now I know enough to know that my the preceding sentence was terrible.

David Lynch's passing calls me to recall "The Perfect Drug," written for Lynch's Lost Highway, a personal NIN fave, though I'd not ever seen the video for it, it's amazing in a real "More goth, no, more goth than that, what part of 'more goth' do you not understand" sort of way

It was a surprise however that it was in a washer. It is a common misconception that your socks get lost in the dryer. Nope. It’s the washers, all the way

In retrospect, I shouldn’t have been that surprised that a portal to another
dimension could be found in a laundromat. Those missing socks have to go somewhere,
right?

And when I say I found a door to another dimension, I mean a slightly broken door of a Speed Queen 25lb, front-loading, coin-operated, commercial-
grade washing machine.

Hey #Space fans!

Where did the term #robot come from?
.
.
.
The Slavic term for forced labor (robota) described peasant workers in feudal times and has existed for centuries. It was first applied to worker machines in a 1920 play titled "R.U.R." by Czech writer Karel Capek.

You know you put a
pair of socks into the clothes hamper, but now that you’ve washed, dried, and folded all
of your laundry, that pair of socks has somehow become a single sock.
