I don't think I've ever said this in public, because it's not our place, and it's thrown around too much anyway. So I hope it carries more weight.

That is: he's lost his goddamn mind.

This Administration is failing to comply with the law and fully release the Epstein files. The victims deserve justice, and those responsible deserve to be held accountable, but Trump is purposely standing in the way of all of it.

Reposting this as it seems to be the kind of damning, documented narrative of Trump’s close relationship with Epstein that so many have clamored for, and I’m not sure why it’s not getting attention. Gift link.

Trump’s worldview is one of winners and losers. Always has been. His new National Security Strategy picks Russia, China, authoritarians, his friends and his family as the winners. Do you know who Trump decided the losers are? You and your family and our safety.

Louisiana — the red state that Mike Johnson nominally represents — has the second highest percentage of residents enrolled in SNAP in the nation.

They’re pushing this fantasy about these being “Democrat programs” used only in blue states but that’s a PR fantasy divorced from reality.
Mike Johnson: "These blue states have abused the SNAP program just like they've abused Medicaid and so many other government programs."

The evidence is now in. The explosive growth in sports gambling is bad for sports, and it has proved to be bad for the millions of Americans who gamble past the point of prudence and directly to the point of pain. The sports gambling revolution needs more regulation. It may even need termination.

When asked if the United States should have a military parade to show off its might, President Eisenhower responded:

“Absolutely not. We are the pre-eminent power on Earth. For us to try and imitate what the Soviets are doing in Red Square would make us look weak.”

Not only does this entire article send shivers up my spine, but I learned this morning that Clay was also fired from his job after this article came out.

The Courage to Be Decent
The goal isn’t to police all behavior at all times. It’s to make us fearful to the point that we police our own behavior.

Dumb tariff policy, tax cuts for billionaires, a president with a meme coin, market manipulation, and blatant corruption. All things that don’t make people feel good about the economy. Is anyone surprised?

Good morning.

Today is the 80th day that the U.S. President is running a backdoor bribery scheme in which any CEO or foreign oligarch can send him money secretly through his crypto coin scam in exchange for favors.

It's the biggest scandal in the history of the Presidency.

Bannon and Miller and so forth like to talk about all the history they read. The Nazis lasted so long because they spent money!
The strength of modern authoritarian regimes is almost completely centered around making sure nothing disrupts their core constituencies (pensioners, security services, veterans etc) from getting their benefits/checks.
