Just reposting this which I think is the most gorgeous thing I have seen in my career - a critically endangered orange-bellied parrot feeding on a carpet of daisies after an ecological burn. This was the first time they’d had the chance to feed naturally in 15y and was wonderful to witness

only silver lining of all of this is that hopefully Trump discovers that alienating all of the US's allies and tanking the country's economy is not really a good path to absolute power.

this is why i'm a defender of universal basic income. it's so hard to foster creativity or innovation when your drive and energy are all going towards just making it to the end of the month.

Yeah, I don't like this. It just feels like outsourcing cognitive work to an extent that's never been seen before. Feel like if I do become a full time teacher I'm going to be complaining 10 years from now that my students can't write. But maybe I'm out of touch.
everyone is suddenly being really casual about using chatGPT and idk if this is the moment where i go off the beaten track with technology and slowly become more and more out of touch until im yelling at my grandson to make amazon prime video work
