Oh please. They were looking to send all Afghans here in temporary status back already, claiming Afghanistan, like Haiti and Myanmar (not to mention Venezuela), are completely safe countries.

It’s not like they’re white farmers in South Africa, for goodness sake!
US says stopped processing all immigration requests relating to Afghan nationals

Not good news here, #NC 😡.

Rs hold 10 of the state’s 14 congressional districts. The approved map aims to flip NC-1, currently represented by a D, Don Davis, a member of the Congressional Black Caucus. Trump narrowly won the district in 2024.

The Trump regime is disappearing people to indefinite detention in third countries they’ve never been to, often giving them no chance to contest their deportation and breaking U.S. and international law.

Cruelty and inhumanity beyond belief.

Prediction: Some will seize on the shooting to try to pull Dems back to a position of cowardice on Trump's deportations, and Stephen Miller will scam dimwit commentators into making this case as well, but what happened ultimately won't dent public disapproval of the raids/arrests in the slightest.

Imagine how bad Trump’s design intentions have to be in order for an architect he “hand picked” to hate it.

Trump’s design instincts have always been awful.

Never forget, before he was the worst president of all time, he was probably the most shady, awful land developer of all time.
Exclusive: President Trump has argued with the architect he handpicked to design a White House ballroom over the size of the project, reflecting a conflict between architectural norms and Trump’s grandiose aesthetic.
Trump wants a bigger White House ballroom. His architect disagrees.
The president and James McCrery had argued in recent weeks over the project’s size, with Trump pushing him to expand the ballroom.

Are you suggesting it’s Biden’s fault that trump sent the National Guard to DC?

I 100% believe this.

Obamacare getting healthcare to 20 million people saves about 30,000 people's lives a year. Or about a 9/11 worth of lives EVERY MONTH, in perpetuity.

This would be bigger than that.

At LaGuardia Airport, there are several rumored and one confirmed ICE arrest of domestic travelers.

If you are at risk of detention or not sure, exercise caution while traveling. Make a safety plan in case of detention and consult an immigration attorney.

I can’t believe there isn’t more pushback on mobilizing the National Guard- from the National Guard and their full time employers. Guard leaving their homes and jobs, traveling out of state to do landscaping and other busy work. Employers who are losing manpower. And Americans footing the bill.

Yes, the National Guard should never have been deployed.

The vast majority of US public officials are expressing sympathy for those impacted by this avoidable tragedy.

But the sociopathic fascist on the White House will use this as his pretext to invoke the Insurrection Act.
I'm angry that two National Guard were shot today. They never should have been there in the first place.

Trump's willingness to endanger the lives of National Guardsman & US troops to make himself look tough, is what passes for GOP leadership.

National Guard troops don't sign up to be used as political pawns. They sign up to serve their country, not needlessly deploy to American cities to pick up garbage. These two soldiers should be alive right now and at home with their families for Thanksgiving. I'm furious.
