This idea of a rainbow ribbon has been in my mind for... at least the last year. Since it is on my tessellating puzzle, all of the pieces fit to each other in any space so I think it will look really cool all jumbled up 😻

Monday meowday? The sun is finally set enough that the backyard is in shade. Such a difference compared to this morning and this afternoon videos.

We measured the temp of the concrete at 5:00 p.m. and it was 120°F 🫠

Stick around to see a cute Mr.Peanut cat at the end of the video 😻

#dayinmylife hopped back on the computer to edit an article for the Puzzle Pages and answer a few emails. Then it's time for Taco Rice for dinner 🤤

Oh, and an allergy flare up for the last hour (sneezing, itchy eyes, runny nose 😵)

#dayinmylife had to "go to the library" (open Libby) and get some lighter reading. Started on Bookshops & Bonedust, for reading during lunch and a bit longer.

Changed clothes to sit outside, because it is now 92° F and humid 😅

And true to form (being a klutz), knocked my bowl of pecans off 😵

I haven't figured out what to eat for lunch yet, instead I rescued new plants from the mailbox!

Sadly, 3 of 4 raspberries had 1/3rd of the canes broken in shipping. Considering how they were packed, I'm not surprised.

Fingers crossed all survive transplanting!

Whelp, we're at the afternoon already, and I took about 30 minutes to shop for puzzle boxes, another 30 sorting through half-completed puzzles and searching for a possible missing puzzle piece, and then 1.5 hour Zoom meeting for Puzzle Jam South. Woot.

Time for lunch!

I'm reading "We Are Not Free", about American teens in Japanese internment camps. The sheer horribleness of it makes my heart break.

How can we be so cruel? How do we continue to be so cruel, allowing I.C.E. any place in this country?

Second breakfast! Rice cooker steel cut oatmeal with garden strawberries. Stirred the shio koji that I'm making.

Some of the pink-and-white salvia that might root in water, and how I read my Kindle while eating, pinched between my knees 😅

#dayinmylife took some cuttings of the marigolds in hopes that I can clone them.

Trimmed and chopped a bucket of comfrey. I'll let it sit a few days and add a mosquito dunk so I get to kill mosquitoes and get a fertilizer at the same time!

And going to try to root these salvia cuttings.

Spent an hour pruning salvia in the garden. Found that this extra-wide salvia bush grew a baby salvia that will need transplanting. And with the sun starting to show, the gnats are coming out, so slathered exposed skin with this oil.

And first impatiens of the year 😻

#dayinmylife 13 seconds of early morning garden time in Georgia, the best time of day in the summer. Stay to the end for a Slinky cat butt 😹

#dayinmylife woke up at 5:30 to make coffee and cheesy garlic biscuits for the spouse before he heads off to work. Used sour cream cuz I have no buttermilk and I forgot this recipe is too salty.

Interesting ID update: these bolettes are not the same! The larger is so bitter my tongue tried to crawl out of my mouth. Verdict: probably a Reddish-Brown Bitter Bolete, Tylopilus rubrobrunneus. The smaller blushes red and is very sweet? Any #fungifriends know of a sweet bolete?

I can't tell you how incredibly wonderful it was to go into a small patch of woods that hadn't been torn down by the developer who bought the land behind my house and find all of these gorgeous mushrooms. Now if only I could buy that lot 😅

#mushroommonday getting all the surprise mushrooms -- I looked up from sitting on the floor to come face to bright yellow flowerpot 'shroom, Leucocoprinus birnbaumii.

#fungifriday because I found surprise mushrooms in the post office mulch. Even better, ones I haven't seen before 😻😻😻

What a gorgeous surprise I found on one of my yard logs today! Fairly sure that it is a scaly shield (deer mushroom). By the way, the logs were added for my cats to have something interesting to sit on 😹

Needed to trim the Rosemary bush thus rosemary loaf! And since the oven was on I figured I'd make lemon tartlets with the lemon curd that I made from scratch 🤤

Because resistance also includes rest, and my rest is baking!

How does #craftivism do anything worthwhile?

1st step in treating a wound is seeing it, and #resistanceart helps us see that there is a problem

Which is why I use my creative medium of puzzles to make a statement that this shit ain't right and resistance isn't futile!

Being from SLC, this makes me proud, and the sego lily on these flags is beautiful!

Some great vexillology 😻
