I cannot overstate how useful this tip is. Using brackets “unsticks” you immediately and gets you out of the “I need to figure this out to move forward” slump, and the solutions *will* come if you just. keep. writing.
Stuck in a scene? Do what the pros do: use brackets. Write what the story beat is:

[Our hero gets out of the fight through clever means]

Then just keep writing what happens after. Maintaining momentum is key to getting the most words on the page. Meanwhile solutions often present themselves later.

Cargill, as always, dishing out the best advice.
Sometimes the words won't come & you'll find yourself stuck in a scene. The best way to write your way out is to write the shitty version of the scene. Even let the writing be bad if need be.

Just. Get. Out. Of. That. Scene.

Finish the story then trust your taste to know how to fix it in editing.
