When extreme weather becomes breaking news - as it does on an increasingly frequent basis - responsible journalists need to report the climate conditions that lead to the crisis. (Just as they unfailingly provide a background profile of every mass shooter who hijacks the news cycle.)
The science is clear that fossil fuel fueled climate change is making heat waves, fires, floods, hurricanes, & extreme weather worse. Yet major news outlets, especially TV news, often fail to name the connection. Demand they do better! sc.org/EndClimateSilence

Enbridge’s track record is horrendous: accidental releases of drilling fluids (frac-outs) on the Line 3 expansion project, the 2010 Kalamazoo River oil spill… the list goes on. We can’t afford a similar disaster in our Great Lakes. Protect the Great Lakes and reject the tunnel project.

Over the past few weeks, we've seen sweeping layoffs to nearly every single federal agency. Firing thousands of employees with no notice and no reason is cruel, leaving individuals unable to serve in the places they love, losing their paychecks, and withdrawing their health insurance.
