🔥😵‍💫
This episode is terrifying.

There's an extended clip of the audio loop of a simulated flight, after the Challenger loss but before return to flight, where the test team dreams up a scenario that is just *cruel* to everyone involved. A nightmare test far worse than Challenger.

Thank you!
Not long started listening to 16 Sunsets (@16sunsets.bsky.social)

This has to be one of the best podcast series I've had the fortunate luck to stumble across.

The storytelling, the music, and the sheers scale of the whole shuttle program is captured incredibly!

Can't wait til the next episode!

Another great episode. I loved the description of the fuelled shuttle waiting on the pad, alive with moaning, creaking and valves firing. Brilliant stuff!

Currently listening to @16sunsets.bsky.social A great tonic talking about improving diversity in NASA in the 1970s (there were no female astronauts before my lifetime) given the news of DEI scrubbing there this week. Segregation and discrimination weren’t that long ago.
