In December 2017, Congress voted on a bill to combat human sex trafficking.

The bill passed the Senate unanimously.

The bill passed the House, 418 to 1.

The 1 "no" vote was Matt Gaetz.

If House Republicans really wanted to protect women, they'd release the Ethics Committee report on Matt Gaetz' alleged sex trafficking - not try to ban their colleagues from using the bathroom. Stop the bigotry and release the report.

The GOP and even media reaction to the Hegseth and Gaetz sexual abuse allegations is scandal-shaped, where there's an assumption of shame.

But for Trump, such accusations are a feature, not a bug. He's a sexual predator and thinks that's admirable.

Sex abuse allegations against Matt Gaetz and Pete Hegseth only make Trump like them more
Republicans complain nominees weren't "properly vetted," but don't get that accusations are a feature, not a bug

Republicans & Trump are planning to gut Medicaid, SNAP, & put an additional 10%-20% sales tax on nearly everything you buy so they can give MORE tax breaks to billionaires.

Republican economics: Tax breaks for the rich, paid for by working Americans.

What disappoints me most about his supporters is that their entire platform is about HURTING others.

Taking away rights.

Taking away benefits.

Taking away a path to citizenship.

It’s a platform based on cruelty.

They hate their lives and prefer if everyone suffered rather than solving it.

Sad.

I have watched this every single time it has come across my timeline. What an extraordinary illustration of power. American politicians could never.
Māori MPs briefly suspended the Aotearoa parliament’s attempts to reinterpret their founding treaty in the most bad ass use of the Haka I’ve ever seen.
