you're telling me the brain inside the tiny animal mouse manning the controls inside my computer mouse, translating my clicks and drags into binary, is ANALOG

look man, i feel your pain. and sorry for being a jerk about it. i just don't understand the procedural complaint outside of lost revenue/traffic/cachet. and i even support that complaint!

you didn't discover a new chemical. it's tech gossip

you said yourself it's because they didn't link you! you're telling me you're angry because you want the PRESTIGE?! now THAT is truly hilarious.

i think you and i have different ideas about what "affirm" means. i usually care about the facts and/or findings, not whether or not an article makes you money personally. but maybe i'm using it wrong
November 17, 2025 at 7:53 PM
i truly do not see your preferred outcome here. how does their reporting not affirm yours? how is there even remotely any competition between the two? it's not like the verge is a blog, it's closer to an aggregator + newsroom ... oh, i get it. they must not have linked to you specifically.

handful is the place to be. in terms of having machine money to finance stage decorations and stuff it helps to become famous. had to dig up this song as an example of a song that sounds like shit (objectively, i feel) that i truly love. youtu.be/Bk65NCyFRPI?... every aspect is bad and it rules

i also have to remind myself it is an infinity sum game. everybody could listen to a lot more music they love and nothing will break. signing a corporate music contract was never actually good career choice or finanical decision; that it is a rarer opportunity for young people seems OK to me.

i suspect that we are in for a lot of real music mixed aggressively like shit to combat the frosty sheen of the machine. admittedly i have always liked plenty of music that is mixed terribly on purpose or accident and hated a lot of well-produced stuff.

sadly it seems i have to write a book about all this as from my point of view it is both more and less depressing than it seems. a big part imo is we 'fans' have not really prioritized caring about songwriters' (meaning the people who produce music as well as write lyrics) motivations and techniques
