Another dystopian AI Superbowl ad -- this one from Ring, showing a vast network of AI surveillance cams with AI analysis to find lost dogs. Happy use today, but tomorrow, it'll be used to hunt for people. ICE is probably already plotting. www.youtube.com/watch?v=OheU...

Bizarre dystopian Superbowl commercial where AIexa+ tries to kill Chris Hemsworth many different ways, then offers him a massage. And this is to try to convince folks that AI is good? I thought it was a promo for a Black Mirror episode. www.youtube.com/watch?v=ha92...

Ferguson on Everything-Everywhere Searches
Andrew Guthrie Ferguson (George Washington University - Law School) has posted Everything-Everywhere Searches and the Geofence Puzzle (George Washington Journal of Law & Technology (Jan. 2026)) on SSRN. Here is the abstract: Police surveillance technologies have outpaced Fourth Amendment doctrine. Arbitrary, generalized search powers stretching across entire cities and states now exist in forms that have no historical analog. Police can now search “everything everywhere all at once” and current Fourth Amendment doctrine has little to say about the resulting privacy and security threats.

A small part of me wonders whether something is fishy about the Rotten Tomatoes audience scores. Nah . . . nothing going on here . . .

As is typical these days, nearly all news outlets have toned down what Trump actually said about his Kennedy Center plans. They make it sound like a closure for renovations, when in fact Trump's post sounds like a complete rebuild. One more example of systematic media downplaying.

Paul Jurcys (U California) et al. have posted “The Future of Privacy Law? A Comment on Solove/Hartzog’s ‘Kafka in the Age of AI and the Futility of Privacy as Control in an Age of AI’” on SSRN. ssrn.com/abstract=528... They discuss my essay with Woody Hartzog: ssrn.com/abstract=468...
