<div class="field field-field-text"><p>More than 500 Israeli settlers stormed the Al-Aqsa Mosque courtyard in occupied East Jerusalem, Wafa news agency reported. </p>
<p>The Jerusalem governorate said that hundreds of settlers stormed the courtyard under the protection of Israeli forces, performing Talmudic rituals and performing provocative tours.</p>
<p>Islam’s third holiest site, the Al-Aqsa mosque, is also a symbol of Palestinian national identity. Non-Muslims are allowed to visit the courtyard, but not pray there.</p>
<p>The site is also considered sacred in Judaism. Groups of Israeli settlers regularly raid the courtyard under heavy police protection.</p>

Some recent bird photos: 1) the Cassin’s Sparrow that has spent the last few weeks hanging out at Montauk Point. 2) the tundra Bean-goose that’s been loafing around northern Nassau County since early November. 3) a Pink-Footed Goose by Haverstraw Landfill. 4) a random Fish Crow at Piermont Pier.
