I would like to point out that the International Space Station does contain documents. Almost certainly historic documents. This diagram is space archive erasure.
Hoping this helps our colleagues across the industry

My take on the inevitable poppy wars: white poppies are perfectly acceptable, as are none at all. But anyone who's read history will know that the original symbol of war's brutality, senselessness and meaninglessness is, of course, the red poppy.

I spotted this on Mastodon and I find it horrible, not least for the speed with which this has happened.

I could spend a long time writing about NASA and the space program, each book a different genre. Literary fiction, speculative fiction, creative non-fiction, memoir, history, biography...

Yes I have ideas for all of these.

Reminding myself that I don't need to be well-informed about everything, particularly when I don't have a vote. I am not required to have a view on Zohran Mamdani. I don't need to know anything about Graham Platner besides the Nazi tattoo. The world will go on without my opinion!

Pet peeve: please stop calling people “diverse.” People themselves are not “diverse.” That’s a fundamental and really worrisome misunderstanding of diversity and politics (and humanity, really).

The Bukhara Biennial is an illusion, an oasis in a desert of repression. Transforming unused caravanserais, madrasas, and one mosque into a maze of miniature galleries within the Uzbek city, there are moments when it is a beautiful, affecting, and wonderful mirage.
The Bukhara Biennial Will Break Your Heart
The work in Uzbekistan’s first biennial shimmers with the promise of culture as a connective tissue, while the autocratic government that funded it lurks in the shadows.
