Former DOJ attorney Liz Oyer just said something that should stop everybody cold:
The Justice Department has started calling Immigration Judges “Deportation Judges.”
She breaks down what that shift means: for due process, for families, & for a system already weaponized against the most vulnerable.

Before the midterms of 1866, President Andrew Johnson called his congressional opponents traitors and said they should be hanged.

Voters were so profoundly moved by his words... that they gave his opponents a supermajority in Congress, and the nation got the Fourteenth Amendment.

H.S. students at Phillip O. Berry Academy walked out in protest, carrying signs like “No one is illegal on stolen land” and “I’ll take my horchata warm cause ICE sucks.” While masked agents stormed Charlotte & arrested 200, these kids showed more courage than the entire operation.

And when Trump is reposting calls to “hang” Democratic lawmakers, their message becomes even more urgent.

GOP U.S. Supreme Court in June 2023 ruled that using race as a factor in college admissions is unconstitutional. BUT today they ruled ICE can use race as a factor when detaining people. To sum up: the GOP Justices ban considering race when it can help people but allow ICE to use it to deport people
