Brief thread on how we got here: Since the GOP won control of the House 2 years ago they have not passed a single appropriations package into law. Government has operated at funding levels set by Dems 2 years ago via continuing resolutions every few months. This is not normal.

“Don’t feed the trolls” also extends to bad opinion pieces in papers of record.
They run them bc people react to them the most.
If we stop linking to bad columns and instead post thinkers we find valuable (& generate convo around it), incentives change.
It’s not easy and takes constant practice!

Cable news is already dominated by programming from news influencers. So younger folks aren't doing anything different here except that their influencers live on the Internet instead of in a TV studio. In either situation we see the erosion of mindshare from good journalism to opinion influencers.
