According to the car wash owner, agents arrested employees before they could obtain their documentation from their work lockers. So many were likely here legally.

🌧️ Storms are moving through California with heavy rain in the north and wet weather shifting south this weekend.

Expect localized flooding, strong winds, and possible thunderstorms, with a risk of debris flows near burn areas.

Stay safe, California, and stay weather aware.

A good mix of autumn moths in the North Hampshire garden last night with 76 of 25. Palpita vitrealis was the only scarcer migrant. Max garden count of 11 Red-green Carpet was notable. Couldn't resist a photo session with this nicely marked Chestnut. #TeamMoth

A cool moth I found yesterday in the mountains above San Jose #CostaRica. I think it's in the genus Paradirphia, but not 100% certain.

It’s the last day of #Arachtober so a few #spider posts seems appropriate 🕷️

First up is this beautiful Common Peacock Spider (Maratus pavonis), one of jumping spiders endemic to Australia. It’s the males of the species that are so brightly coloured
