No actually re: this but his Azem operates similarly (just with most self-awareness). Apple wrested bodily control from Arsene and killed (??) Zenos against the latter’s will, in an act of vengeance for Arsene killing Hydaelyn (who Apple felt Normal about) #appleyposting
Arsene Auclair is very quick to get fed up with people for making poor decisions in fits of passion. Though he isn’t a very outwardly emotive person, he actually operates this way almost exclusively.

he doesn't want to die period, as he doesn't want to be subsumed by the soul of his azem. He died once (briefly), and that's what stirred Azem in the first place. He doesn't want to relinquish his soul and personal identity back to someone he resents + who he views as a threat to his autonomy
#wolqotd maybe a bit morbid, but what does your wol/oc want to happen to them when they die? like, to their body. do they want a somber funeral or a wake or nothing? do they want to be buried, cremated, or something else? where do they want their remains to rest? do they want to be known or unknown?

The WoL and Minfilia: 🤝 Being forced into undeath and eternal service by god. But at least the latter’s spirit is free once god is dead (bittersweet). You’re not so lucky though (but at least you get to visit Machu Picchu)

I like thinking abt the updated Prae storybeat where it is implied that Lahabrea kills the WoL + Hydaelyn brings them back. They just gloss over that (understandably bc it was added in like ? 2022 when they redid prae iirc?), but not me !
