Day 1, #kidneywk 25, We attended the poster presentation, which focused on an important topic: Reducing gaps and strengthening training in urinary sediment analysis. We were joined by someone passionate about U-sed. @juancarlosqvelez.bsky.social , @roxnonna23.bsky.social .

Clinic visit, pt w/type 2 diabetes + nephrotic range proteinuria. Persistent hematuria noted (normal cysto 3 mo ago) not c/w diabetic nephropathy. #UrinarySediment 🔬is performed: numerous acanthocytes and a few WBC casts. Serum IgA elevated. Normal C3/C4. Other tests pending. Kidney biopsy planned

#nephsky #urinesediment Patient with chronic HCV infection, now with icterus. During hospitalization developed oliguric AKI, but also received high volume of fluid. There is hypoalbuminemia (18 g/L). The spleen is normal size, but liver is very large. Here are pictures of urinary sediment 👇🏼
