Advent Day 11: Few Spirits Bourbon 46.5% dear god I needed a couple of days off. A slightly odd volatile note (nail polish) blows off to reveal a perfectly decent, clean, polished and smooth Bourbon. I bet it would make a bitching Manhattan. Good.

Advent Day 7 (actually Day 1) St George's Spirits Breaking & Entering. Straight down the line whiskey, bright and clean and fresh, really clean and classy. Honey and nuts? Oh, go on then.

Maker's Mark Cask Strength, 55%abv, on ice and a dash. Copper gold colour, huge spirit aroma. Some may think it's a hiding to nothing trying to write notes on 24 American whiskies - they're all the same, right? But as John Peel memorably said about The Fall - always the same, but always different

Advent Day 4: I've realised this evening that in my pious frenzy to commence Advent, I've drunk day 7 on day 1. The font is quite spindly. Anyone might have made the same mistake. To correct matters, I was momentarily swayed towards drinking day 1 today, but then what would become of day 4?

Advent Day 3: Westward Single Malt. 45%, on ice. I'm not saying that this is becoming a high point of my day, but I ripped the door off in my eagerness to get this one out. Slightly darker burnished gold colour, much more assertive aroma, oak, tropical fruit?

NEW: When Andrew Tate landed in the US, Customs & Border Protection seized his electronic devices. But @propublica.org found that a White House official told DHS to return the devices, emphasizing that the request came from the White House.
