#PortfolioDay - and a little pitch, may I?
I am Alessandro, an italian artist with 15+ years experience in pixels, a penchant for tilesets, top-down view, monsters and adventures!

I left my main occupation in movie art dept (set design) in late 2023 to pursue full-time #pixelart.
Ch-ch-ch-changes!
A topdown pixel art remake of Ruin Valley, from Pokemon FireRed and LeafGreen. Many ancient structures can be seen emerging from the steep cliffsides and lush tropical vegetation: temples, tall palaces and mysterious pathways and towers. A moltitude of pokemon and trainers can be seen around. To the east, the ocean with tall waves and a jagged coastline. Water and fossil pokemon live there. At the center of the valley, the legendary pokemon trainer Red is entering the Dotted Hole ruins. Peculiar rock formation resembling regi pokemon are scattered throughout the environment. A collection of tiny pixel art pokemon scenes, featuring: 1. Chinchou swimming under the waves 2. Lanturn jumping above the waves at night 3. Corsola on the seafloor 4. Horsea in a cave underwater 5. Seadra in a kelp forest 6. Kingdra among whirlpools 7. Swinub at home, sleeping on a carpet 8. Piloswin taking a bath in hot springs 9. Mamoswine traversing a snowstorm 10. Cleffa hovering in space 11. Three Clefairy dancing at Mt. Moon Crater 12. Clefable in the middle of a pond, looking at the stars 13. Porygon in a strange labyrinth 14. Porygon2 running on a mobius strip 15. Porygon-Z floating in an old screensaver 16. Bonsly sitting on the porch as the rain starts to fall 17. Sudowood taking shelter from heavy rain in a mountain cave 18. Mew looking at the viewer through fish-eye lens 19. Sunkern floating in a summer meadow 20. Sunflora basking in the sunlight over a sunflower field 21. Celebi flying through Ilex Forest An animated top down pixel art diorama of a Haunted Mansion main hall. The gothic architecture is the perfect playground for the many ghost pokemon inhabiting the abandoned house. Right in the middle of the foyer, a megaevolved Chandelure welcomes unfortunate visitors with its blue flames flickering gently as the moonlight seeps through a hole in the roof, lighting the ruined pavement in a cold light. A solitary mimikyu joins the foyer, dragging its disguise across the western wing passage. A duskull levitates below the balcony, disappearing through rich, old and dusty drapes. The East Wing corridor is blocked by Gourgeis and Pumpkaboo, with their dim, warm lanterns mimicking the many candles and chandeliers scattered around the mansion. Could they be the very ones lighting them up? The monumental staircase leads to the first floor, were the balcony oversees the whole entrance room, forming a U-shape. To the left, leading to the western wing first floor, a Lampent shines atop an archway. To the East, a Dusclops waits in the shadows. At the very center of the balcony, Gengar is doing all kinds of silly faces, laughing at the viewer, right before disappearing. A litwick has found its nest in a small alcove by the two-story wooden doorway arch. Onboth sides of the doorway, many paintings with rich frames are hung. To the left, a Mismagius is showcasing its psychic powers to Misdreavus by taking control of a huge painting of Agatha, the famous elite 4. The shaking painting's eyes shine briefly in an ominous light. On the second story of the archway a Dusknoir briefly appears. An Ariados can be seen coming down its web through the gothic archs. Under the dark roof atop the whole scene, Haunter and Gastly are playing hide and seek. A huge hole in the roof lets the moonlight rays enter the Hall. Through the very same opening, zubats and a drifloon can be seen flying. A top down pixel art of the Going Merry Ship from One Piece, sailing calmly through the waves. The Strawhat jolly roger waves gently at the very top of the mainmast. A Palestine flag waves atop the rear mast, where a red, white and green sail is also found right below. Many green, red, white and black triangular flags are tied to the ropes all around. The crew can be spotted all around: Sanji is looking at a watermelon crate, possibly thinking of new recipes. Tony Tony Chopper is strolling happily down the staircase in the deck. Zoro is taking a nap at the bottom of the main mast. Nico Robin is relaxed, leaning on the main central deck railing and watching the waves, with a book by her side. Nami is looking towards the horizon from the bow deck where Usopp can be found as well, busy with ship's reparations. Luffy is sitting atop the sheep figurehead, with his arms stretched, hugging the giant watermelon he is enthusiastically eating.

A character sheet with many different monsters in pixel art. There's a dogu-like magical construct, with its detachable head firing lasers, a giant Squid-like Kraken, a fire skeletal demon. The next row shows a plant-like Alraune entity with a huge rose bud on its head, a Lich with its magic staff wearing an old robe, a skeletal dragon, a chained ghost with two vertical bright eyes and a vampire with a bat's head. The third row has a lagoon monster, a Slime queen with its lower part being a gown, a griffin, a giant spider and a floating possessed doll monster with shiny eyes and crazy snake-like hair. The last row has an antlion with huge pincers, a man-eating giant flower, a mud-like construct with shiny stones, a classical wyvern-like dragon and a decaying zombie giant. A top down, aerial view of a city and its outskirts by a swampy river. The streets are filled with people, and the architecture has a distinctive early twentieth century aesthetic, with rich bent iron structures. A top-down view of a cathedral-like structure, with many columns. At the very center, a giant baldachin, firmly standing on twisted columns. The altarpiece is mounted in a rich baroque frame, surmounted by stained glass rose window. A tall, bat-headed vampire is guarding the altar, with bats flying around. A richly adorned pipe organ can be seen to the eastern gallery. Along the transept in front of the absis, two enclosed naves host a Pietà statue and a reliquiary. Many huge chandeliers hang above the central nave, and lots of candles are scattered around the cathedral. A few zombies and skeletons are marching towards the entrance, where a group of adventurers is preparing for battle, being surrounded. To the side of the absis altar, downward staircases lead to the crypt. A huge skeletal dragon guards a closed gate. Many huge chandeliers hang above the central nave, and lots of candles are scattered around the cathedral. Below the Cahedral, an underground Ossuary crypt, with walls made out of bones and skulls. An eerie light permeates the various locales, featuring grates, numerous walls of wax, monumental coffins and pillars. A Lich warlock is channeling dark magic by a sarcophagus. The Tower above houses a giant bell. A faraway city can be seen from the terrace, as a Griffin guards the bell beam. A secret room with four chandeliers features many tombs. There, a lady-like demon with bat wings floats above a marble coffin.

My new 3D/pixel adventure of evolved quite a lot. Maybe a little too much, even. I made a little tune to accompany it, but my knowledge is limited to notation softwares only (i use musescore as piano is my hobby).

Very happy about all the stuff I learned and improved, but I'm exhausted 🫠

Exploring the origins of the Sharkfolk and Roberto's past. Between ancestors, supernatural events, and mysterious human figures, the sea still hides secrets from its own guardian sharks. 🌊🦈✨

Then there's the controls: In vertical pairs: Left: Pitch Rise Rise speed Reverb Room size On the right: Wobble Speed Wobble Amount Tone Brightness Volume Next is a row of keys: Randomize - randomizes the sound parameters UNDO/ REDO - go back to parameters you liked Export Wav - self explanatory, it saves a copy of the latest sound to your hard drive. Then the fun buttons, with cute art styles: IMPACT, sparkle, beam, powerUP, PON, BOOM, slash, woosh Each produces a preset sound, which then goes through the fx chain. Hope you enjoy it!

Giratina Ø
The spark of creation laying dormant for aeons has now been rekindled. Although this form appears unstable, it is born out of perfect balance between spontaneous matter creation and annihilation. Within its reality-defying core lie infinite possible worlds, none destined to come true.
An artwork of a fan-made form of the pokemon Giratina. The form, called Giratina Ø or Giratina Null ("Ø" is the mathematic symbol for null sign, denoting an empty set) showcase a strange, hollowed body similar to a chrysalis exuvia. Its head features the characteristic Giratina eyes, with the red markings radiating from the iris in a pitch-black face. These eyes light is a lot stronger, creating an horizontal flare that splits the pokemon gaze. Its golden helm and mandible structure has changed a bit, becoming much larger; the crown now splits at the top in two horns, creating what looks like one half of Arceus' circle. A few red gemstones have appeared on the whole structure. Notably, surmounting the whole head, a pitch-black halo in the shape of a trilobed crescent moon levitates. Inside the "shell" exterior, a second membrane, split open, houses an inner white, luminous core shaped like Arceus body and head, features concentric circles resembling an eye. Around the central part of the body, surrounding the fissure, a set of 8 red, spiked claws are bent inwards. From the lower part of its body, coming out of the inner membrane, a set of six glass-like swimming flaps with shimmering red claws. On its back, six pitch-like tentacles stem from six circles on the pokemon back. At the extremity of each tentacle, a golden pin-like claw can be found, with its tip glowing in the same red energy as the back circles. Behind these pins base, attached to the tentacle, the pitch substance forms a tear-like bulb, almost like a propeller.
