#PortfolioDay - and a little pitch, may I?
I am Alessandro, an italian artist with 15+ years experience in pixels, a penchant for tilesets, top-down view, monsters and adventures!

I left my main occupation in movie art dept (set design) in late 2023 to pursue full-time #pixelart.

It was a lovely and well organized event that would have kept me (very) busy these upcoming weeks, so the cancelation took me (and many others) by surprise. My next courses and projects are later in 2026 so I have to adjust my overall schedule quite a lot (and on short notice)

Hueheuehe ty! Luckily enough I didn't have to sell my soul to anyone, I just had to pour a little part of it into pixels, during my free time, for (quite) a few years! Start small and have fun!

I basically had my whole first semester programmed for 2026, worked on it for a while, with many windows for personal releases and stuff. Nonetheless this setback on the main gig took me by surprise, so I'm trying to rewire the whole thing into a less volatile situation 🤷

+ My major project for this 2026 first quarter has been canceled, therefore I am now open for work - preferably under a part-time workframe, preferably gamedev.

+ Tilesets (+anim) & sprites very welcome!

+ New itch tiles are finally coming, too, but I'm looking for a structured gamedev project.

heheh, the problem is: each discovery brings new ideas / refinements to prior steps nd stuff. So yeah it's a bit of a loop but I'm doing the final touches, then we move on to the release and next project! :'>

My new 3D/pixel adventure of evolved quite a lot. Maybe a little too much, even. I made a little tune to accompany it, but my knowledge is limited to notation softwares only (i use musescore as piano is my hobby).

Very happy about all the stuff I learned and improved, but I'm exhausted 🫠

I definitely have to try Blender! I think I have a basic grasp at how to obtain the pixel look through UVs but I really, really enjoy Crocotile's streamlined tileset to polygong pipeline :'P

Working right now on some advanced animation!

OH that seems interesting! I am currently working with Crocotile, but how does the vertex positioning you mentioned work?

I have a basic knowledge of Blender and no experience (yet) in Godot!

I absolutely love the workflow and tileset-based mindset of the program! It's so lovely to play around and make scenes (and, well, that's what I've been mainly doing for years anyways!). I could get the basics in an afternoon with some tea and I am already BRIMMING with ideas! Give it a tryyy

Ahhh, sorry! (Also idk why THE COLORS came out in caps lock? My bad ;_;) Actually I was kind of thinking about an area of my childhood neighborhood, with houses being built on the hillside, many staircases and dry stone walls. It's very nostalgic, also yellow lights because those were the ones used!

Oh! These are actually my custom pixel art tiles! I guess THE COLORS as well as the 16x16 pixel tileset density and the warm lights could somehow recreate the feeling of Tactics (which I adore btw!)
