Many of the studios that support animated shows are dying and fading away. Hopefully animation is able to transition to new platforms, but until then, this is a scary time for many of the people who make the things you love.

I am starting a studio! We are small and scrappy and have no money. Why am I doing this? Because the only ones who can protect art are the ones who value it. Disney using AI? Yuck. Netflix buying WB? Also yuck. In 10 years what is even going to be left.

I would not call this a walkback at all, more like they are mansplaining to us that we are overreacting and what they want to do isnt that bad - still keep up the heat tho.
Discord is already starting to walk things back a little, so people should keep doing what they're doing (cancel Nitro, leave feedback/criticism, direct contact through support tickets/phone/email/etc)

This takes enormous amounts of resources and sacrifice to pull off. Sharing this to support people on the ground:

"This directory of places to donate to all comes from activists on the ground, plugged into the situation. Everything is vetted, with the exception of individual GoFundMes"

The correct answer to this is "Yes, and everyone else too."
Should artists get a basic income like they do in Ireland?
Could the government pay salaries to musicians and artists - no strings attached like they do in Ireland?

It’s not enough to say Abolish ICE. It’s not enough to vote no on ICE funding. It’s not enough to confront Kristi Noem or Greg Bovino with Stern Words.

If you are a leader, what are you doing to protect your community? How are you using your power, privilege, and position to confront this threat?

ICE murdered a nurse today. Worked with veterans.
Alex from our time working together, while he was in nursing school. Later, he moved to ICU, working as a nurse to support critically ill Veterans. He had such a great attitude. We’d chat between patients about trying to get in a mountain bike ride together. Will never happen now

I dont think it was a coincidence ICE murdered someone for nothing, blaming it on his 1A rights and on the day after people held a massive General Strike.

That to me says it all. These freaks are scared of what will happen when they are brought to justice.

And they will be sooner or later.

EIRU was such a great short! I would love to sit with a series like this.

Cartoon Saloon is one of the only few animation studios that completely gets that vibe that Studio Ghibli is known for and just runs with it. I rrally hope EIRU gets the love it deserves ❤️🔥
Cartoon Saloon wants their Eiru short to be nominated for an Oscar, so it's been made free to watch for a couple days.

Now's your chance to be exposed to animated kino if you haven't already.

Sorry for not making anything for New Years. I’ve been getting over two colds in a row but I wanted to say thanks to everyone who’s supported me this year.

2025’s had some personal highs and lows, but I’ve made some real big milestones this year & finally feel like a pro artist (1/2)

Netflix to Buy Warner Bros. Discovery in Major Streaming Deal
Netflix to Buy Warner Bros. Discovery in Major Streaming Deal
Netflix today announced that it will acquire Warner Bros. Discovery's vast studios and streaming operations for $82.7 billion. The transaction will see Netflix acquire Warner Bros., HBO, and HBO Max in a cash-and-stock deal valued at $72 billion in equity and $82.7 billion, including debt (via Reuters). The acquisition gives it control of major franchises, including DC, Game of Thrones, Harry Potter, Looney Tunes, and the Warner Bros. film library, dramatically expanding the volume and diversity of content available under one streaming umbrella. The acquisition also gives Netflix the established HBO brand and its library of prestige television series such as The Sopranos, Succession, and The Wire. Netflix said that it intends to maintain Warner Bros.' theatrical distribution, preserve HBO Max as a discrete service in the near term, and integrate HBO and Warner Bros. content into its own catalog. Today, Netflix announced our acquisition of Warner Bros. Together, we’ll define the next century of storytelling, creating an extraordinary entertainment offering for audiences everywhere. https://t.co/rXPFMNIs1A pic.twitter.com/0pdsMUEob8— Netflix (@netflix) December 5, 2025 Netflix confirmed that each Warner Bros. Discovery shareholder will receive $23.25 in cash and $4.50 in Netflix stock per share. The deal is contingent on Warner Bros. Discovery completing the previously announced separation of Discovery Global into a standalone company in the third quarter of 2026, as well as regulatory approval. The transaction is expected to take 12 to 18 months to complete. Reports in October claimed that Apple was interested in acquiring Warner Bros. Discovery's extensive back catalog of content for Apple TV. With that prospect now firmly ruled out, ‌Apple TV‌ is highly likely to face heightened competition from Netflix in the years to come. Well said, Andrew. Well said.
Over the last month, I've been working on this essay about the use of AI art in board games, "Is This Really What We Want?" Though it is contextually specific, it is also a reflection of my wider thoughts on the use of AI art and writing in creative contexts.
