3) Anyone questioning electoral integrity in Canada tonight, especially re: how votes are counted, ballots protected, etc. is to be ignored. Advance polls are likely to be counted last. Late swings in close ridings are therefore likely. This is not a conspiracy, just how counting is done.

2) Beware of certain complaints about our single-member plurality system. It's *perfectly valid* to prefer PR, but there's no such thing as "wasted votes" and remember, it's 343 separate elections, not one giant prime ministerial one: if your party can't win many seats they needed deeper support.

My own Election Day reminders: 1) We don't elect the prime minister so there is no such thing as "PM-elect". If you must, say "PM-designate" or "presumptive PM" OR, if it's Mark Carney, just say "Prime Minister", because he's literally still PM even after the results tonight.

Following a superb suggestion from @snarkysteff.bsky.social, the City will be investigating offering courses this summer that relate to resiliency & emergency preparedness in uncertain times.

I discussed it with senior staff today and will report back on what we decide.

Such a course interest you?
