Wherein Duke, predictably, makes more of an effort to distance itself from The White Lotus than they have Stephen Miller:

Duke University Wants No Part of ‘The White Lotus’
In a show that features an array of disturbing story lines, the actions — and wardrobe — of a character have gone “too far” for the university.

One (of many) forms of recourse in the face of authoritarianism: joy. Specifically, DJing and hanging outside with friends. In that spirit, we present The Hang — a new North Carolina-based video series from @superempty.bsky.social and One Speaker Radio.

Now that the influential bigot who did a Hitler salute publicly claimed that organic protests against his malfeasance are secretly controlled by a list of foreign Jews, some of whom aren’t even alive today, are we allowed to call him a Nazi, or is there something even Nazier we have to wait for?

Very heartened by this pair of EPs out of Durham the past few weeks from Jaythehbk and CJ Monet. Highly suggest you give them a spin, after giving them a read:

A pair of Durham EPs give credence to the idea that a yearning for a more tactile and terrestrial existence remains very real.

For as long as I can remember, the website @diddukewin.com has been the cherished online destination for reveling in every single one of my rival's losses. In that spirit, I thought a few would enjoy it if I made one for the biggest loser of all: Jefferson Griffin.

Just the latest and most striking illustration that any hope of an even semi-"just" Democratic party (i.e. one not beholden to Israel) is an impossibility. Many of the party's most prominent backers care more about another country than they do about this one.

Jon Ossoff, Georgia’s First Jewish Senator, Is Losing Jewish Support (Gift Article)
Democratic donors and Jewish leaders are so unhappy with Jon Ossoff over his position on Israel that some have quietly urged Gov. Brian Kemp, a Republican, to run against him.

Could say this about a lot more than just Green Day/American Idiot — across the board it seems like even "Bush II" energy in the art/culture zeitgeist would feel like a step up from where we are today.
Would really love if Green Day would just re-release American Idiot like it's a new album. So many people have memory holed it or didn't pay attention and we really need that energy right now.
